If you own the HTC One X and have been wondering when the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update would finally appear for your handset, then the wait is almost over, as it looks likely to start rolling out in October.
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean may have been launched back in July but not many smartphones are currently using the update that brings with it a faster and more streamlined interface, as well as new services such as Google Now and Google’s improved voice recognition software.
However, things are starting to move as news of the HTC One X Jelly Bean update comes from tech site MoDaCo, which is owned by a highly respected developer. While he’s not cited his source, many of his previous claims have proven right so we’ve no reason to doubt him.
The site claims that generic HTC One X handsets will start getting Jelly Bean in October and if you have an operator branded variant then you can expect to have your update by Christmas at the latest, as long as the operator and Google approve the changes, that is.
Owners of the HTC One S will have to wait longer, as it’s not presently known when Jelly Bean will be making an appearance on this handset.
