ResetPlug will reset your router when it messes up

MultiNet invented the ResetPlug, a smart plug that resets your router whenever your Internet is down.

When your internet is down you’re destined to a few minutes of turning your router on and off again, in the hope that it would do the trick.

ResetPlug is a smart plug that knows when your Internet is down and automatically restarts your router until your Internet is back. ResetPlus will cycle power power every five minutes until it detects a Wi-Fi signal is back. It’s design to cut out the irritating procedure of manually restarting your router, when your router inevitably fails to do what’s commanded of it.

If your modem and router are separate, you can plug them both into an extension and plug that into the ResetPlug. The ResetPlug is particularly useful to those with Internet of Things (IOT) devices such as security cameras, sensors, alarms, thermostats and servers. IOT devices like the aforementioned rely on the Internet and obviously become useless once connection to the Internet has been cut.

ResetPlus is available in the U.S but you can buy it for $60 which converts to roughly £41. On top of that you’ll have to pay for shipping, another $24 on top, bringing the grand total to $83.99 (£57.99). It’s a 4-8 week wait for international delivery.

Amazon are being a bit cheeky offering the ResetPlug for $149.99, with free shipping.
