Although you may have just got your hands on your Android Wear smartwatch, you’ll be happy to know that you can download a handful of Google and third-party apps for the wearable via a newly unveiled Android Wear apps section on the Play Store.
The apps include the usual Google suspects such as Google Maps and Hangouts, alongside popular third-party apps including Pinterest and Duolingo.
There are, in total, 20 apps currently in the section with more no doubt to come as developers play with the Android Wear SDK – which was made available at Google’s I/O conference last month.
The only Android Wear device immediately available is the LG G Watch, with the Samsung Gear Live only available to pre-order. The highly anticipated Moto 360 will be out later this Summer.
Google has also rolled out Google Play Services 5.0 for developers, which introduces a set of APIs that make it easier to communicate with apps that run on Android wearables. The company boasts that its OS will contain the most sophisticated apps ever seen on wearables.
A few of the rumoured third-party apps that have been teased in the past have yet to appear on the Play Store. These include PayPal, Soundwave, Eat24 and Lyft.
