Hot on the heels of its recent ‘hipster’ update, Rockstar has announced another upgrade for GTA 5 Online this time in conjunction with the upcoming 4th of July Independence Day celebrations.
The USA-themed update will celebrate all things America (in GTA’s true satirical style) by introducing new cars,bikes, properties and – of course – guns.
It wouldn’t be a true Independence Day celebration without fireworks and the most intriguing new addition on the list is a ‘firework rocket launcher’.
A round-up of the new features available in the update are as follows:
Vehicles:
– Sovereign motorcycle
– Super-sized Liberator monster truck
Guns:
– Antique high-powered Musket
– Firework rocket launcher
Properties:
– New locations in Paleto Bay and Vinewood Hills
– Option to hold a fireworks display in your back yard
Pleasure Pier:
– You can now ride the Ferris Whale and the Leviathan Roller Coaster
Clothes and hairstyles:
– “Made in the U.S.A.” t-shirt
– Mullet
– Eagle mask
Tuning updates and adjustments:
– On Call Matchmaking function – This allows players to accept a Job invite and continue playing in Freemode until that Job fills up, reducing time spent idle while waiting for Job to start.
Details regarding a GTA 5 Online ‘celebratory 4-day Independence Day Weekend Event’ will be announced tomorrow.
All the true patriots out there who want to grab the new update (1.15), all you have to do is turn on your online-connected PS3 or Xbox 360 and start GTA 5. You will then be prompted to download the automatic update and Xbox 360 players will also be required to download an additional compatibility pack upon entering GTA Online.
