Reliable tipster @evleaks has posted an image of what seems to be a Blackberry Passport running the Android operating system.
Is this our first official glimpse of a Blackberry handset running on Android? Blackberry CEO John Chen eluded to the fact that the company was considering an Android device only if the platform was secure enough. This image from reliable tipster @evleaks seems to suggest that the company may have cracked the security issue.
While the device in the image looks to be a Blackberry Passport, it seems to suggest that the company are considering the platform for future devices. The rumoured ‘Venice’ handset is expected to run the operating system and will sport some true flagship specifications. The phone will feature a 5.4-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display that has curved edges similar to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, a 1.8GHz hexa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 808, 3GB of RAM, an 18-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
