And we’re off on the CES front. The Cat B100 has been unveiled, with its first showing due for Las Vegas this week.

Not heard of Cat? It’s that lovely kind of brand that specializes in rugged phones built to deal with water, dropping and lightning strikes (okay maybe not that last one).

The Cat B100 ticks those boxes and then some. It’s a feature phone that can survive drops of up to 1.8 meters and stay submerged under a meter of water for half an hour. Plus if you happen to be near any volcanoes or frozen wastes, it can withstand temperatures of -25OC to 55OC.

Then there’s the 10 hour talk time battery life (at 1150 mAh) and noise cancelling microphone. The screen is also 2.2 inches, which is pretty standard for a phone of this make. Doesn’t seem to be such a bad deal, does it?

The Cat B100 is available right now in Europe (go! go!) and will be coming to other markets throughout the year.
