BBM coming to iOS and Android

While an official release date for when we can expect to see Blackberry instant messenger available for iOS and Android platforms has yet to appear, user guides leaked today by Crackberry suggest that it can’t be too far off.

The guides were originally available on the Blackberry website but have since been taken down. Crackberry reports that the guides offered the basic information you would expect on using the iOS and Android versions of the app such as creating groups, adding contacts, setting sounds and emoticons, starting a BBM chat, viewing your chat history etc

Earlier this month we caught a glimpse of BBM running on a Samsung Galaxy S3 and now it looks like the messenger can’t be far off from a public release. Blackberry originally promised a ‘summer’ rollout for the service but with September just around the corner, they’ll need to get a move on if they want to stick to their deadline.

Given that Blackberry appear to have pulled the BBM guides from their website it may be safe to assume that the announcement was premature, and Blackberry aren’t planning on giving anything away just yet.
