T-Mobile UK has confirmed that Blackberry Messenger will be coming to Android and iOS starting from June 27.
Today it emerged that Blackberry may be looking to preinstall BBM on several Android devices, this can most likely be seen as a bid to beat Samsung’s ChatOn and WhatsApp, which are currently preinstalled on many devices.
The app is expected to launch for Android users with Android 4.0+ and iOS6+.
UPDATE: Blackberry has denied claims that BBM is launching on iOS and Android on June 27.
“While there have been reports that BBM will be available to iOS and Android on June 27th, this is not accurate,” the company said in a statement. “We will communicate an update as soon as we have an availability date to share.”
So there you have it, looks like T-Mobile was wrong, and the tweet has since been deleted.
