Apple pulls the plug on iOS 6, no going back from iOS 7

We’ve been living in an iOS 7 world for about a week now, and it hasn’t been going as smoothly as Apple might have envisioned. There haven’t been any disasters (just yet), but a few bugs have cropped up and, uh, some people have been throwing their phones in water.

It looks like you’ll have to stick through any other issues for now though, as the company has pulled the plug on last year’s model – iOS 6. You’ll no longer be able to revert back to the older OS in any official way, and access to the likes of the iTunes Store and certain other apps is now blocked. The oldest device to use iOS 7 is the iPhone 4, so any model on from their should now be running on the latest version of the OS.

Shed a tear for iOS 6 – it did the likes of the iPhone 5 proud. But now it’s time to look to the future, and what iOS 7 can bring (it isn’t waterproofing).
