Apple is readying its biggest ever iPhones, with two versions of the popular smartphone to go in to mass production next month – according to a new report from Bloomberg.

Citing unidentified sources close to the matter, the report states that both the 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch handsets will be released to retailers as early as September.

Bloomberg adds that the new iPhones will be rounder and thinner, with bigger screens complete with curved glass and enhanced sensors that can detect different levels of pressure.

Rumours regarding bigger iPhones have been surfacing online for a while now, with commentators citing the increase in larger devices – such as the LG G3 %5.5 inch) and Samsung Galaxy S5 (5.1 inch) – as the driving force behind Apple’s decision.

The same goes for device sales in crucial emerging markets such as China. Bloomberg states that 40 percent of Android devices sold in the region this year had display sizes of more than 5 inches.
