A leaked image of the upcoming Sony Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact has appeared online, showing the size differences between the two phones.

Rumours have been circulating about the new devices, with the Xperia Z5 expected to feature a very large 5.5 inch screen. Further to this, recent leaks also suggest that both phones will come equipped with fingerprint sensors, a first for any Sony device. The image below comes courtesy of reliable tipster @vizileaks and, while it doesn’t reveal anything substantial, at least shows us the size differences between the two models.

There’s also a glimpse of the side power button, which apparently doubles up as a fingerprint sensor on both devices. Sony’s choice to put it on the side is an interesting one and it may turn out to feel more intuitive versus the implementation offered by the likes of Samsung, OnePlus and Apple. It could negate the need to constantly hit the home button when unlocking your device, making it a little quicker to open up apps and games.

Of course, the images could still be fakes so take it with a pinch of salt. We’ll likely know more at the upcoming IFA event on September 2nd.
