It’s the first of what will be a monthly event, Android Pay Day is here so you can get yourself some free goodies from Starbucks and Deliveroo!
Android Pay Day will be a monthly event, where the last Tuesday of the month will see special deals to those using Android Pay. It will always be the Tuesday before your next payslip, which can get confusing when you factor in national holidays, but don’t worry we got you covered when announcements are made. Obviously its a ploy from Google to get everyone to use their new NFC payment service.
The ploy is starting off well with two deals from a couple of brands you may have heard of; first off is Starbucks who are offering two-for-one Frappuccinos. To make your claim for an extra Frappuccino valid, simply wave the Android Pay app in the cashier’s face, in a not so baller manner preferably, but that’s entirely up to you.
As for the second deal with Deliveroo; you can get £5 off your first order, providing you’re a new Deliveroo customer. Before paying for your food, punch in the following promotional code: ANDROIDPAY5.
Don’t worry existing customers you get some love too, but less. Punch in ANDROIDPAY2.5 before opting to pay via Android Pay, which should be below the promo code area. Bear in mind there is a minimum spend of £15 and a £2.50 Deliveroo charge.
Hardly anyone is going to complain about Google being evil with these incentives to get people to adopt the new payment method. You get discounts and people moving just a bit quicker in the queue at the supermarket. It’s a win-win situation as they say.
Android Pay has proven to be an easy and seamsless service, one that has freed many from their wallet when going for a run, and rescuing those who forgot their oyster cards. That’s right it works on the tube too.
