Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be coming soon to OnePlus devices according to a blog post from the Chinese OEM.
The OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 will be receiving the update in Q1 of 2016 but have not actually given specific dates. Which is understandable as the Android market is quite fragmented and updates will appear at different times. It’s most likely that both devices will not receive Marshmallow 6.0 at the same time.
Marshmallow 6.0 will bring a community build to the OnePlus One and will be provided by Cyanogen. OnePlus 2 will enjoy an improved fingerprint sensor as the update will bring over the fingerprint sensor API.
As for the OnePlus X, it’s still up in the air when OnePlus’s latest device will receive the upgrade. CEO Carl Pei said:
“We are working hard to bring Marshmallow as soon as possible to the OnePlus X, and will update you on a time frame at a later time.”
