Mixbit is a Vine-like video sharing service from YouTube founders

Vine and Instagram are currently the kings of the video sharing hill, but Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, the founders of YouTube, are hoping that they can find a gap in the market for their new service — Mixbit.

The app is backed by Google Ventures and lets you record up to 16 seconds of video, one second more than Instagram Video and 10 seconds more than Vine. The unique thing about Mixbit though is the ability to remix other people’s videos as well as your own.

By remixing other people’s videos you can put together a movie of up to an hour long, which you can then share to the world.

If you don’t want people to know who is posting the video, then no problem, as every submission on Mixbit is anonymous.

The app is currently available for iOS, with an Android version in the works, with a planned ETA within the next few weeks.
