The cheaper you go, the worst the phone usually is — but ZTE has tried to buck that trend launching the Blade V on Virgin Media for just £71.99, as well as including a quad-core Qualcomm MSM 8225Q processor clocked at 1.2GHz.
Of course, it’s not all rosy, given the phone is only running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, two versions behind the latest update — Android 4.3.
If you don’t mind the outdated OS, then you’ll find a lot to offer on the ZTE Blade V, with a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 4-inch WVGA display.
It’s certainly not going to blow anyone away, but it’s ideally suited for people on a budget — who want at least a taste of a more expensive smartphone.
The phone will be available exclusively at Virgin Media, with existing Virgin customers gaining access to the £71.99 price, whilst new customers will be forced to cough up an extra few quid, with the phone costing £89.99.
