The first image of Xiaomi’s upcoming drone has leaked today, showing a design that differs slightly from what was previously thought.
Drones are not exactly the first thing you think of when considering the mobile industry, but that hasn’t stopped Xiaomi from gearing up to showcase their very own this year at MWC. Earlier leaks pointed to a design that incorporates an as-yet unreleased peripheral that is expected to resemble the Mi Band. Users will be able to direct the drone using the band as a location-based tool, while there’s also talk of gesture control to make it do some stunts (and crash miserably in the process).
Today, a fresh image has leaked that appears to shed some further confirmation to these rumours. The design is pretty conventional from a drone standpoint, with four blades and what appears to be an integrated camera. Nevertheless, it’s definitely a looker. Hardware details are still incredibly scarce, however it is believed to measure 350mm from arm to arm.
The design is said to differ from the original, which was apparently too close to that of the Phantom series created by another drone manufacturer. Fingers crossed that they bring this cool accessory to MWC!
