After briefly showcasing the Mi Band 2 during the May 10 launch event, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that the smartwatch will release in early June.

While there’s still no concrete details on what exactly the Mi Band 2 will include with regards to hardware, we do know what it will look like thanks to a bunch of leaked images. An LED display is pretty much confirmed, which the original models did not have. The overall design seems like a subtle evolution of the existing Mi Band, with the same basic shape and appearance.

The LED screen will also reportedly be able to display additional information such as notifications and fitness information. As we can see from the earlier leaked images, there’s already the possibility to see battery info, step counts and distance traveled, which should satisfy health nuts. Previously, the images were thought to be of a prototype model, though with a June release date now confirmed, we think it’s pretty safe to say that this is the final production version. Rumours point to a release as early as the first week of June, so keep your eyes peeled for more info.
