Xbox is set to launch a dedicated World Cup zone on the Xbox One in time for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil kick-off game on 12 June.

Entitled Destination Brazil, the football-centric theme will provide a one-stop shop for the videos and games that focus on this year’s World Cup festivities.

The Destination Brazil Zone will be updated daily, according to Xbox, and will include a combination of terrestrial TV broadcasts through the TV functionality of the Xbox One and the new OneGuide, and original content such as the reality series Every Street United – featuring former French international Thierry Henry. You can view the trailer for the latter below:

The hub, which retains the Xbox one’s tile UI design on top of a football-pitch themed green and black colour scheme, will offer easy access to live matches on TV and relevant games such as FIFA 14 and Kinect Sport rivals.

An additional feature, will be quick access to Xbox One’s World Cup companion app Brazil Now. The app, which can be viewed on-screen while a match or game or TV show plays, offers a bundle of live news updates, statistics, a Twitter feed and imagery from the tournament.

It can also be set up to send notifications to the screen when significant events occur, such as goals or large incidents. When a notification appears, the user then gets the chance to enter that match’s live feed automatically.

Both Destination Brazil and Brazil Now are voice controlled and they are free to all Xbox Live users, not just those with Gold membership.

They will become available as part of the forthcoming June update, which will also add OneGuide functionality for all UK Xbox One users, as well as a number of other features.
