Microsoft has finally launched Windows Phone 8, the latest version of its smartphone operating system to compete against Android and iOS6. The OS is based around Live Tiles which can be customised into three sizes of Live Tiles and 20 colours including cobalt, crimson and lime.
New features include Live Apps which deliver real-time information right to your lock screen with updated wallpaper. A new feature is called Kid’s Corner. Parents let their children use the phone with a specialised place on the phone for kids to play where they can access only the apps, games, music and videos picked by parents.
Windows Phone 8 is built to synch seamlessly with Windows 8 PCs, Microsoft Surface devices and the Xbox 360 console.
