After being absent for a couple of weeks, WhatsApp is now back on the Windows Phone Store and even includes a bunch of new features.

The Facebook-owned messaging app was pulled from the store by its developers after a lot of users reported having serious issues with update 3 for Windows Phone 8. The bugs included permanently disabled notifications and persistent errors.

The new features for the restored app include new chat backgrounds, better privacy settings and the ability to customise notification tones.

The popular messaging app’s return was announced on Twitter by Windows Phone’s head honcho Joe Belfiore. Follow the link in the tweet embedded below to grab WhatsApp for your Windows handset and restore order to the Universe.
