A batch of new Ferrari FF models are the first vehicles to hit the road with Apple’s in-car OS (CarPlay) onboard. They can be spotted across the world, as buyers from Europe, US and Japan scooped up the premium cars.

The first Ferrari FF with built-in Apple CarPlay fittingly went to an Italian buyer. Additionally, the legendary vehicle manufacturer has revealed that the cars will also grace roads in Germany, France, Switzerland, UK and the US.

Although Apple has partnered with a wide range of manufacturers for the release of its in-car OS, models by the likes of Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Volvo and Pioneer have faced numerous delays and won’t be available until next year.

Ferrari adds that Apple CarPlay will also be available on the California T, which was unveiled at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.

Designed to “bridge the gap between” your iPhone and your auto, CarPlay offers call control, Siri interaction, and media playback with a simple iOS-like interface.

It also allows for satellite navigation using the iPhone’s built-in GPS and mapping systems.

Apple has launched a dedicated CarPlay section on its website to describe the various features of the in-car system.
