Here are two statements you’d struggle to argue with: The Nintendo Wii is very popular, and gaming on Chromecast is under-utilised. Introducing: Motion Tennis, by Rolocule.

Motion Tennis is a new app for mobile and Chromecast that makes use of some very cool features. With the main game playing out on your television screen your Android smartphone functions as a Wii Remote-style motion controller, as you swing it around like a real tennis racket.

The game also makes use of that second-screen by showing different menus and information on it whilst the main game is playing out on the TV.

What’s more, Rolocule promises that Android Wear compatibility will be coming soon, meaning that if you happen to own a compatible smartwatch then you won’t even need to hold your phone to play.

Motion Tennis also works with all smart TVs equipped with Mieracast or AllShareCast, so you don’t even necessarily need Chromecast. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, the game is free to download (with some in-app purchases available, naturally). You can also challenge other players to a game in online multiplayer, which is a very cool and slightly surreal feature.

Check out footage of Motion Tennis in action at the video at the top of the page, and download the app here.
