UMi has announced that the UMi Max pre-orders hit 30,000 handsets within 12 days after the company put the device up for a flash sale.
The device was put up for a flash sale on August 11th and attracted quite a lot of attention, considering the Chinese smartphone manufacturers small market footprint. The base variant of the phone features a 5.5-inch 1080p panel and Helio P10 CPU, plus 3GB RAM and a monster 4,000mAh battery. This is in addition to a 13 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front facing GalaxyCore camera. There’s also dual-SIM functionality, which is handy if you’re a business user who is with multiple network plans.
UMi Max pre-orders is good news for this budget powerhouse
The smartphone comes with the stock version of Android 6.0 right out of the box, giving the most pure experience of Google’s operating system. There’s even USB-C and a fingerprint sensor thrown in for good measure, which seems to be a running staple with UMi handsets.
The specs are even more impressive when you consider that the handset costs just $169.99 (£129.43). For those who missed the pre-sale, it will continue until August 31st on popular eShops such as Gearbest.
