What do you expect to pay for a tablet these days? £300? £180? £100? How about £30? That’s the starting price for UbiSlate’s new range of 7-inch educational tablets, coming to the UK soon.

The new devices will come in three variants: 7Ci, 7C+ and 7Cz. It’s the first of these three that sets that low price, with 4GB of storage and a 1GHz Cortex A8 chip. If you want to add Edge speed to your connection then you can upgrade to the 7C+, although we don’t know the pricing of that model just yet.

The finally, most expensive device is the UbiSlate 7Cz, which still only costs £80. For that amount, you’ll get a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor with 8GB of storage. Each slate is also fitted with a 2-megapixel camera for your snappy needs and runs Android 4.0.

Disappointed by the specs? Keep in mind that these devices are meant for use in schools and not really at home. We’re sure they’ll more than fit the bill for classroom stuff.
