Twitter is taking advantage of Google’s new system for beta testing apps to offer a new version of the social media app to willing testers.
To gain access to the app users must join a Google Group (using their Google+ account) and then elect to become a tester. New version of the app are then delivered via the Google Play store. So far Snapchat and Facebook have both been high-profile users of Google’s beta testing system, gaining user feedback to refine their mobile apps.
At this stage it isn’t possible to run the current, stable version of the Twitter app as well as the beta version, so potential testers should be wary that they’ll have to put up with bugs and glitches if they want to be among the early adopters. Of course the easy way around this is to use a third party Twitter client you can rely on while still getting to be one of the earliest users of Twitter’s new app.
