The Touchjet Pond Projector, the first device that turns any flat surface into a super-sized touchscreen, has launched today (May 12). Prices start from £599.
The device allows users to interact with photos, videos, games, apps, presentations and watch videos anywhere on a screen that stretches up to 80″. Examples of what you can project on includes the kitchen wall and the bedroom ceiling. Users interact with the screen using an infrared stylus and you can also edit documents in real time.
Apps and games can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, as it operates on Android 4.4 KitKat. Download a third party app and you can directly project from nearly all smartphone or tablet devices.
Touchjet Pond Projector size
The projector is so small that you can easily fit it into the palm of your hand, briefcase or purse.
“Mobile devices do a great job of keeping people connected, except when they are in the same room,” said Helen Thomas, CEO of Touchjet and former SVP of Worldwide Sales at Livescribe and GM of APAC International Business at LeapFrog. “We’re creating devices that take the interactivity of mobile apps and project it so everyone can share the experience, be it in the living room, classroom or a board room.”
