Apps are the reason why we love our smartphones so much; it’s like having tons of useful little assistants at your beck and call. So why not recruit some new ones to get you through the week! Here’s our top smartphone games for June 21st-27th!

Toby: The Secret Mine (Android and iOS)

Price: £3.99

toby

The Limbo inspiration is clear here, play through the game and you’ll se more similarities with the dark indie hit. Toby: The Secret Mine is a puzzle platformer dropping you into a dark world full of mysteries hidden in the shadows.

A variety of levels are here for your entertainment: factories, caverns, forests. Each different with environmental puzzles that will push your cranium. Atmosphere is on point with an eerie soundtrack that will keep you on edge.

Orbit’s Odyssey (Android and iOS)

Price: £2.29

orbits odyssey

Parasitic robot space zombies are invading your planet to steal your precious gems. The only logical thing to do is kick some ass and chew some bubblegum (make sure you’re out of bubblegum). Obrit’s Odyssey is a strategy puzzler where you run against the planet’s rotation while avoiding obstacles like robot zombie teeth and celestial hurdles.

There are 90 planets for you to run, collect gems and avoid capture. Things get ridiculous when the teleportation ring coms into play.

Spellspire (AndroidiOS and Windows Phone)

Price: Free

spellspire 2

Get your wizard robes on, its time to kill the undead and show Harry Potter how things should have gone down in the Forbidden Forest. Spellspire is ridicuously charming with the cute art style and thoughtful RPG design, it gives off the same charm as the Paper Mario series.

The aim of the game is to get to the top of the tower with the power of literacy. On each floor you’re given ten letters and you must make as many words as you can, before something ugly kills you.

Vainglory (Android and iOS)

Price: Free

vain glory

Vainglory was an exclusive for iOS featuring heavily for the launch of the iPhone 6. Rejoice as it has made way to Android! Why should you be excited? Well if you like your MOBAs (multiplayer online battle arena), Vainglory is a MOBA, on your phone. Amazing right?

You get the usual MOBA formula here with lane domination being key and level grinding is vital. Vainglory isn’t just a MOBA game on your smartphone, it’s a great MOBA game on your smartphone.

Rodeo Stampede – Sky Zoo Safari (Android and iOS)

Price: Free

rodeo stampede

Tame some broncos and get your arse across the map with this enetertaining arcade game. Rodeo Stampede has an arcade core which is obvious from the first tap. Controls feel tactile even on a touch screen.

You play with one hand so it’s perfect for the tube and overcrowded bus. We’ve seen plenty of endless runner games such as Temple Run, but Rodeo Stampede feels fresher and much more rewarding as you’re not just running, you’re trying to survive!
