Apps are the reason why we love our smartphones so much; it’s like having tons of useful little assistants at your beck and call. So why not recruit some new ones to get you through the week! Here’s our top mobile games this week for June 27th – July 3rd!
Bearbushkas (iOS only)
Price: £1.49
Taking advantage of the multi-touch gestures found on the Apple iPad, Bearbushkas is a social game where up to four players can compete on the same device. Each player controls a Soviet bear and a spacecraft; the aim is the to wipe other players off the map. Matches are fast-paced and usually over very quickly, you can also fill the empty slots with bots if needed.
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius (Android and iOS)
Price: Free
There’s now quite a few Final Fantasy games available on mobile, with some of them feeling a little hit and miss. Brave Exvius was previously available in Japan but has now finally made the jump to the west, bringing with it a solid mix of JRPG and classic 8-bit graphics. Square Enix has scaled the depth back in an effort to make this more accessible to casual players but it’s still a great title.
The Slaughter: Act One (iOS only)
Price: £2.99
Harking back to the days of classic titles such as Monkey Island, The Slaughter: Act One transports players into Victorian London where they must track down a serial killer terrorising the streets. In standard point-and-click fashion, you’ll need to interrogate the locals and search for items in your quest to uncover the truth. Combine this with the retro 8-bit graphics and it’s like being transported into a beautiful time portal.
Arma Mobile Ops (Android and iOS)
Price: Free
You may remember Arma as that incredible PC war title that prides itself on being fiercely close to reality. To say that it bears the same name, Arma Mobile Ops is considerably different to the equivalent game. This tower defense game has a lot more in common with Clash of Clans, where you build a base and then try to defend it from outsiders. If that’s what you’re after, this is a solid title worthy of mention… but don’t expect Arma.
Pizza Mania: Cheese Moon Chase (Android and iOS)
Price: Free
I never thought that a game where you design a pizza could be quite so much fun, yet here I am writing about Pizza Mania in the top mobile games this week for June. Controlling a young pizzeria chef named Chester, you’ll be trying to turn his grandmas old pizzeria into the best place in town. Pick the correct toppings and compete against the clock to get out as many pizzas as possible.
