Apps are the reason why we love our smartphones so much; it’s like having tons of useful little assistants at your beck and call. So why not recruit some new ones to get you through the week! Here’s our top apps for this week!

This week we’re giving you our top iOS apps.

Madhat (iOS only)

Price: Free

We love Snapchat and the creative things our friends come up with to make us laugh. The doodling feature may be a small part of Snapchat, but it proven to be one of the best thing about the social media app. The Internet has produced some funny and inventive snaps, but there’s always room for improvement. Madhat is the photo doodling app you need to further expand the art that is drawing a beard on your mate. The UI is tight and you won’t see any crashing, which Snapchat is infamous for.

Boom: Music Player with Magical Surround Sound (iOS only)

Price: Free

iTunes is hard to replicate as it just does everything you need and more when it comes to organising your music and ease of use. But it isn’t as customisable as third party music players. With Boom you can adjust the levels to suit whatever earphones you’re using. That’s not all, you can adjust any earphone to get a 3D surround sound effect.

DM2 (iOS only)

Price: £3.99

Following the success of the DM1 Drum Machine, the guys at Audionomy Apps have released DM2, an even more fully featured music creation app. With 6 main sections, the app covers pretty much everything you could want from a drum machine and more. There’s a 32 step sequencer and 3×3 pad surface for constructing live beats on the fly, while the advanced mixer page and FX section allows for plenty of customisation. You’ve also got the ability to save patterns and play them back in the Song section, allowing you to construct full tracks from your beats with relative ease. This, and the Ableton Link compatibility, makes it a powerful tool for anyone’s DAW.
