Texting to be allowed at AMC Cinemas

We’ve all been in a situation where we’re trying to watch a movie at the cinema but then there’s someone right in front of you texting on their smartphone, or updating Twitter with all the latest scenes of a movie. Not only is it disrespectful to you, who has paid good money to watch the film, but it’s also disrespectful to the thousands of hours gone into producing the film that you can’t spend 2 hours away from your phone.

Now however, one cinema chain in the US is looking to appease those serial texters, who have to share every moment of a film with those around them, by opening up ‘texting aisles’.

AMC plan on converting the back row of all of its 400 cinemas to these aisles where there will be soundproofing and a barrier to prevent light from illuminating the entire row. The reason for the conversion is so that people could text without disturbing other customers. Here at What Mobile we believe that the cinema should be one place where texting is banned.
