Available in 24 UK cities

Tesco Mobile has become the latest MVNO to launch 5G in the UK, making the service available to its customers across 24 UK cities.

Tesco says it will have 50 locations ready in total “in time for summer”. Current launch cities include London, Glasgow, Leeds and Coventry.

It joins SkyVoxi, and BT Mobile as UK MVNOS that offer 5G.

At launch, Tesco is making the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G and Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G available, with the new S20 range available for pre-order.

Tesco’s cheapest 5G tariff is a SIM-only tariff with 5GB of data for £15 per month. The A90 5G is available with 5GB of data for £29.99.

Commenting on the launch, comparemymobile.com mobile comms expert Rob Baillie said: “Although Tesco is a bit behind its competitors in launching 5G, it is offering affordable rates to its customers, which is of course what everyone wants.

“Tesco is known for being a reliable and affordable brand and it could well see its customer base grow thanks to its 5G SIM-only contracts for as little as £15 a month.

“In short, if Tesco keep its prices low, it could boast the most competitively priced 5G deals around.”
