Start menu could return in Windows 8.2

We recently saw Microsoft make a bit of a concession in its vision for Windows 8 by including the Start button back in the Windows 8.1 update. Now it sounds like the entire Start menu could be making a return too.

Supersite for Windows claims that the missed Start menu might be added back into the OS come the Windows 8.2 update. The very same update, codenamed Threshold, will apparently allow apps to run as simple desktop programs instead of launching into 8’s elaborate user interface.

So back these updates seem to be doing a lot of backtracking. It’s great that Microsoft is listening to its user base, though it must be disappointed that it’s having to go to these lengths.
