Sony’s South Korea CEO confirms the Xperia i1

The existence of the Sony Xperia i1 was confirmed today by Sony’s CEO for South Korea Kenji Sakai, as reported by T3. What Mobile recently reported on the alleged specs for the device which were leaked by Taiwanese website Eprice but today was the first definitive evidence that the handset it more than mere rumour.

Sakai did not elaborate on whether the handset will be available here in the UK, as reports suggest that he was talking specifically about the South Korean market.

Sakai did not discuss the alleged specifications leaked by Eprice and at present they cannot be confirmed to be accurate. The Xperia i1 is expected to be released at Sony’s IFA conference in Berlin this September.
