As Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates continue to roll out to Sony handsets, such as the Sony Xperia S, the next smartphone to see an update to Google’s latest OS will be the Sony Xperia P.
The news came via Sony Mobile’s Italian Facebook page. When a customer queried when an Xperia P Android 4.0 update might become available, Sony confirmed that the update is on the way in early August.
While this doesn’t confirm whether UK handsets will receive an update at the same time, it’s still good news for Xperia P owners that are itching to try out the great features of Ice Cream Sandwich for themselves.
Of course with the launch of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean now so close on the horizon, your thirst to have the latest OS on your phone may still be left un-quenched, so hopefully a Jelly Bean update will follow closely behind.
