We’ve learnt a lot about the Sony Xperia Honami already, but here is something that we weren’t quite sure of — according to a leaked slide, the Xperia Honami will be capable of recording 4K video.
Whilst the standard 4K resolution is 4096 x 2160, Sony seem to have bended the rules a little in its favour, with the slide claiming a resolution of 4000 x 2000.
It may seem like a big deal, but there are already processors on the market that can handle recording 4K video, such as the Snapdragon 800 — so that’s our first guess as to what will be powering this beast.
It’s not just the processor you have to worry about, as the sensor has to be up to scratch as well, with the Xperia Honami’s camera rumoured to be 20.7MP 1/2.3″ Exmor R sensor and G lens — which hopefully should produce this stunning 4K video.
One more issue that the Xperia Honami will face is storage — or lack thereof. The Lumia 1020 already has this problem, with a 100 38-megapixel photos taking up a whopping 6.32GB.
This is by no means the first time we’ve heard of the 4K capability rumour, but it does add credibility to the report.
If all works out for Sony, the Xperia Honami could be a huge contender in the smartphone market — with a lot of firsts.
