iOS 7 launched a few weeks ago now, yet a redesigned Skype didn’t land until just yesterday, bringing the iOS 7 look and feel to the much-loved calling and messaging service. It wasn’t just iOS fans getting in on the major Skype updates though, with the company’s Android app also receiving a significant update.

If you’re an Android tablet user, then you’ll notice a whole new interface for Skype when you update the app to version 4.4. According to a blog posting on the company’s website the new UI “puts conversations first, displaying your most recent calls and chats.” The new UI won’t be the most welcome new addition for tablet users though, with the video calling quality improved by up to four times of previous versions of the app.

iOS users will mainly be receiving the new design which brings it inline with iOS 7, although in the company’s blog posting it also touted some improvements to both audio and video quality on iOS devices.

The iOS app can be downloaded from the App Store here, whilst Android users can find the app on Google Play here. If you own a Kindle Fire tablet then you should receive the update later this month.
