Samsung certainly isn’t resting after the release of its new flagship, the Galaxy S4, announcing the arrival of the Galaxy Tab 3.
The new tablet was announced via the Korean manufacturer’s website and would come with a seven inch screen, Samsung said.
Available globally at the start of next month (May) for the Wifi version and June for the 3G version, the new tablet is billed by the company was being thinner than its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab 2 (7″).
It will run with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor with 1GB of RAM, which is fairly decent, with either 8GB or 16GB internal storage with expandable memory options up to 64GB, Samsung said, and pack a 3MP rear camera with 1.3MP front facing camera.
The device would measure 111.1x188mm, at 9.9 mm thick, weighing 302g (for the WiFi version – 3G would be 4g heavier). It would pack a 4000mAh battery, Samsung said.
Running Android 4.1, the tablet would be available as above but with the usual disclaimer that availability varied by market and would be rolled out gradually.
The newly announced device has been seen as a challenge to Google’s popular Nexus 7, which received generally good reviews.
