Following a report by German site MobiFlip which claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S4 has been plagued with battery issues, a problem that is thought to have affected 30 percent of all Galaxy S4 owners — Samsung has promised free battery replacements for those affected.

Speaking to TrustedReviews, Samsung has urged “all affected customers to visit their nearest Samsung Electronics service centre, where they can receive a replacement battery for free of charge.”

The Galaxy S4 has been on sale for just six months, and whilst ordinary wear and tear on a battery is to be expected, this typically comes after years of use — not six months. Many users have reported that there have been serious battery life issues despite having a rather large 2600mAh Lithium-Ion battery included.
