Samsung are trying hard to find a way of utilizing the unique Galaxy S6 Edge to the best of it’s potential, with a new application potentially on the horizon.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is a beautiful device which we liked a lot, though it sadly has lots of wasted potential in the cutting-edge (excuse the pun) display technology. For many, the curved screen has added nothing more to the experience. In fact, it’s actually taken a few things away; namely loosing all that screen real-estate so that they can implement the curves. Have no fear though, as it would seem that Samsung is well aware of the problem and intends to sort it out with a new feature called ‘Apps Edge’.
Though it’s not currently clear what the app will entail, Samsung has hinted that it will be for “organising and allowing quick access to frequently used applications.” We can assume from this that it will offer some form of file manager/short-cut functionality along the edges of the display.
There’s currently no word on release date or price, though it’s safe to assume that it will be a free update to existing Galaxy S6 Edge users. It will also be interesting to see if the functionality comes as a suite of applications, or whether the update simply uses features already on the device.
