More Samsung leaks reveal even better look at two new Galaxy A devices with metal design

Samsung has already confirmed that it plans to launch more metal-bodied devices as part of its A-range, which it claims will retain the metal-bodied aesthetic of the Galaxy Alpha.

Thus far, however, we’ve had to rely on leaks in order to catch a glimpse of the upcoming handsets. We got our first look last month, when Sammobile snapped the new Galaxy A5 in the wild. As promised, it had the sleek part-metal look of the Galaxy Alpha, but Samsung left us scratching our heads when it revealed that the frame was neither metal nor plastic.

Since then, the Korean manufacturer has kept quiet. Luckily we now have a second attempt to marvel at the A-range’s premium aesthetic.

This time the culprit is AndroidMX, which posted new shots and a video of two Galaxy A devices on its Twitter account. Aside from the previously leaked Galaxy A5, here we also get a better look at the A3.

Both handsets are purported to be mid-range versions of the Galaxy Alpha. Android MX claims that the new devices will launch in the coming months. Additionally, it looks like the A3 will sport dual SIM card slots – a feature usually geared at emerging markets, further cementing its status as a mid-range device that will likely cost less than the £450 Galaxy Alpha.

More intriguingly, AndroidMX also tweeted that both devices will in fact come with the same aluminium body as the Galaxy Alpha. A claim that conflicts with Samsung’s original statement.

Although there was no mention of the specs of the A3, we do know that the A5 will sport a 5-inch super AMOLED screen, a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing lens. The latter is definitely beefier than we’re used to seeing upfront from Samsung – we wonder if it will be promoted as it’s selfie phone as a result?

The A5 is rumoured to launch for $400-$450 (£250-£280) alongside the A3 and A7 in the coming months.
