The day that Samsung fans have been waiting for has finally arrived – the Samsung Galaxy S5 is now on sale across the UK.

The Korean giant has become a firm favourite all throughout the world, making up the majority of the 80% market share Android smartphones hold. It’s easy to see why – this handset it is the best yet. Its display is one of the best going at 5.1 inches with a pixel density of 432 ppi, whilst behind it sits a mighty 2.5 GHz quad-core processor.

It is of course 4G LTE enabled and comes with the latest version of Android, 4.4 KitKat, pre-installed. A massive 2800 mAh battery, water and dust proof certification, a 16 megapixel camera and expandable memory of up to 128 GB all sweeten the deal.

You can head out and pick one up now for free on a 24-month tariff of as little as £33 per month, or alternatively you can buy it SIM-free for around the £570 mark (ouch).

What’s more, Samsung’s new range of wearables has also been released. There may be a lot of scepticism regarding the smartwatch market, and perhaps rightly so, but if ever there was a time to try one out – it’s now. There are three devices in the range: the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit, and any of them would make fine accompaniments to your new S5.

The Gear 2 is the most complete device of the three. Full smartwatch functionality including the ability to read and send text messages, answer calls, control their music and even take photos thanks to its two megapixel auto-focus camera (which then sends the photos to your handset automatically. It’s pretty impressive). The Gear 2 Neo boasts all the same capabilities of the Gear 2 – minus the camera. The removal of the tiny snapper does make it lighter though.

Finally, the Gear Fit is, as the name suggests, a true fitness wearable. It features a unique oblong, curved OLED display, meaning it fits the contours of your wrist perfectly. It’s also light and discreet; perfect for when you’re out for a run, or even a swim – the Gear Fit is fully waterproof for up to a meter, so you should be fine as long as you stick to the shallow end. It’s got a pedometer, heart rate monitor, accelerometer and a gyroscope. Basically everything you need to completely monitor your daily run or gym sesh. It also has a battery which can last up to four days.

If you’re not sure if any of Samsung’s new devices are for you, you can now head to one of their eight Experience stores located throughout the UK and try them all out before you buy.
