The Galaxy F could be coming in a ‘perfect gold’ variant with a brushed metal back cover, according to a new leak from the ever reliable @evleaks.
The latest image of the smartphone that is being touted as the premium version of the Galaxy S5, also confirms the presence of a heart rate sensor at the rear.
The Galaxy F has been rumoured to sport an impressive QHD (2560Ã’1440 pixels) AMOLED touchscreen, and it may be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 and 3GB of RAM – as compared to the S5’s Snapdragon 801 processor and 2GB RAM. It is also alleged that the phone will have a 16MP rear camera with OIS.

If the latest leak is to be believed, the Galaxy F will follow in the long line of flagship smartphones to come in a gold variant. Others include the iPhone 5, the Galaxy S5 (which comes in a copper gold variant) and the HTC One M8.
UPDATE: Those looking forward to a quad-HD display in their shiny, brushed metal device may be in for a disappointment. Dutch tech site tweakers.net cites local telecommunications company KPN as the source of their new-found specs for the Galaxy F.
Unfortunately, it seems that the display will be the same 1080p Super AMOLED found in the S5 (not that there’s anything wrong with that – it does look fantastic). If this new device is priced even higher than the Galaxy S5, though, that could be seen as a let down.
One thing that does look set for an improvement though is its processing power. Its chipset is in for an update, stepping up from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 to the Snapdragon 805. Its GPU will be bumped up too, from the Adreno 330 seen in the Galaxy S5 to the Adreno 405. This means better graphics for the user – arguably the next best thing to an increase in resolution.
Of course these specs are still just rumours, so don’t believe everything you read just yet. We’ve been hearing about this device for so long now though that an official announcement can’t be far off.
