The OnePlus X is officially available to pre-order today through an online Chinese retailer.

We’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of the OnePlus X for some weeks now and it seems that the device is finally starting to trickle out, with online retailer Geek Buying listing the handset for pre-order. The quoted price is $288.99 which translates to roughly £193.33, though it’s more likely that it will be rounded up for UK markets. Of course, people from our shores can still purchase the device from the website if they wish but it’s worth noting that you’ll have the burden of additional import and tax fees. You have been warned.

The OnePlus X may be a lesser phone when compared to the OnePlus 2 but it does have some very unique features that make it quite a unique offering on its own. The inclusion of a microSD card slot is a first for the company and allows the device to be expanded far beyond the 16GB included memory, up to a total of 128GB. OnePlus has also done its best not to cut down on core specifications, with the new OnePlus X still managing to squeeze in a Snapdragon 801 and 3GB RAM.

We’re eagerly awaiting an invite to see just how good this mid-range killer is.
