If you have AT&T and own a Windows Phone, then no doubt you’ve been waiting a long time to receive the much-anticipated Windows Phone 8 GDR2 update. Nokia Windows Phones won’t only be getting the GDR2 update though, with Nokia adding a few special features to ensure you get the most out of your Lumia device, and that update is called Nokia Amber.

Nokia Amber has been out for a while now for those of you who own some of the latest Lumia devices such as the Lumia 1020 and the Lumia 925, but those of you on AT&T who own a Lumia 920 or 820 have had to watch in envy as international owners get the update first. AT&T has however announced that users will soon be able to download the update, with it beginning to roll out as of today.

The Nokia Amber update doesn’t just bring the GDR2 features such as FM Radio, but it also unlocks the Nokia Pro Cam app for Lumia 920 users, an app that was first announced alongside the Lumia 1020. The update will also add the ability to use Glance Screen, which brings a feature from old Nokia phones to the Lumia range.

According to The Verge, AT&T has had trouble with the GDR2 update with some things going wrong in testing, causing it to be delayed. With GDR3 and Nokia Bittersweet Shimmer just around the corner, AT&T users are most likely hoping that lightning doesn’t strike twice.
