Although is has been long-rumoured that Nokia is working on a Windows-based tablet, it seems that it will not be running Windows RT, as sources familiar with the matter have told The Verge that the Finnish company has abandoned its RT-based efforts.
That doesn’t mean we can’t look at what might have been, with supposed images being leaked of the tablet on Naver Cafe forum, which seem to show the tablet in all its glory — including a magnetic connector similar to that found on Microsoft’s own Surface tablet.
There were no other details, not even regarding the battery cover — which would work much in the same way as the Surface’s type cover, but would instead provide a charge rather than an input method.
If you’re still holding out hope for a Nokia tablet, then all may not be lost, as the company is rumoured to still be working on a Windows-based tablet, but is opting for a full version of the Windows 8 OS rather than the chopped down RT version.
