Nokia is staking a lot on the launch of its new flagship smartphone, the Windows Phone 8 powered Nokia Lumia 920, as well as it’s smaller sibling, the Nokia Lumia 820. Pre-order pricing has started to appear giving us an indication of what we can expect here in the UK.

The Nokia Lumia 920 is the flagship model of the Windows Phone 8 range and comes with a 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ display, 8.7-Megapixel camera that uses Nokia’s own PureView technology for better low-light photos, while the addition of Optical Image Stabilisation makes for steadier footage when shooting video.

By comparison the Nokia Lumia 820 is a more everyday phone, with its 4.3-inch screen, the same size as the current Nokia Lumia 900, but with a super-sensitive touch display so you can use it while wearing gloves. Also running Windows Phone 8, it also offers a variety of interchangeable shells to add extra features, such as wireless charging and extra rugged protection.

A number of Nokia websites around Europe have posted pre-order details, giving a clear indication that any hopes of a bargain price for either device may well be ill-founded. In Germany, for example, the Nokia Lumia 920 is set to cost 649 euros, which is around £517, while the Nokia Lumia 820 will cost 499 euros (£397).

Nokia has yet to announce pricing of the Nokia Lumia 920 here in the UK, nor to provide details of when either device will launch. However, it’s looking most likely that November will be when we see the first handsets hit the high-streets.

Are you excited about the Nokia Lumia 920 or will you be giving Windows Phone 8 a miss? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
