Us tech heads might be obsessed with the Kindle Fire HDX, but the simpler Paperwhite e-reader is alive and well. In fact, a new Kindle Paperwhite could be coming early next year, reports are suggesting.
TechCrunch is reporting that a new version of the device will release in Q2 next year. The screen will be improved, with a sharper 300-pixel-per-inch display and the design will be strummed down a little. Specifically, it will have a lighter design that’s much closer in spirit to the HDX line. It would rework the power button to fit on the back and feature a glass screen.
Rumours also suggest that such a device would sport haptic feedback on the sides for vibration feedback. That said, apparently there won’t be a new software update to support the launch. How much better can e-reader tech get, we guess?
The last Paperwhite was released just two months ago, so it’s pretty early for a new model. Hopefully there’d be a few concessions like a price cut but we don’t have word on that. Would you buy a new Kindle if you’ve just upgraded?
