The Motorola XT890 has been spotted passing through the FCC and with Motorola holding a launch event on 18 September 2012 co-hosted with Intel, this could well be the first sighting of Intel’s rumoured 2GHz mobile processor.

The Motorola XT890 is thought to be a global version of the RAZR M, so we can expect a 4.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 540 x 897 pixel screen resolution and running the Android OS.

The phone has passed through the FCC and is shown with 2G and 3G radio antennas but there is no mention of 4G LTE – not something currently required in the US, but it’s thought that it will be a part of the feature set.

However, the plans do show intentions for dual-band Wi-Fi, much like the newly revealed Apple iPhone 5 sports, so we can look forward to super-fast hotspot download speeds.

There is no mention of NFC or wireless charging, ala the Nokia Lumia 920, but in this age of packing in as much technology as possible, we’re hoping at least one will make an appearance.

With full details still thin on the ground, it seems we’ll need to wait until 18 September before we get the full rundown of what the Motorola XT890 will offer.
