Motorola’s next flagship is on the horizon and its better than the HTC 10 .

Things have been quiet at Motorola since parent company Lenovo confirmed they will kill off the Motorola name. Thankfully we’re still going to see smartphones from the RAZR legends, as Lenovo will allow development of “Moto” devices.

Nothing is known about Motorola’s new device until today. The leaked specs on Geekbench reveal some surprising features. Currently codenamed as “motorola XT1650,” we’re expecting this to be the follow up to last year’s popular Moto X Style.

According to the benchmark test the new Moto device will have the Snapdragon 820 and 4GB of RAM. Putting it in the same category as the LG G5 and HTC 10. It scored 5344 in the multi-core test, sitting above the LG G5 (5418) and HTC 10 (4950).

We need to know more

The Moto X Style ticked a lot of boxes for everyone, front-facing speakers, cheaper price and stock Android. There are speculations that Motorola will abandon their seeming ethos of getting the fundamentals to a tee and joining the quality/spec race.

If this leak proves to be true the spec part is right. Which would be a bit strange as the Moto X Style was the mid-range handset with the X Force being the high-range.

The Moto X Play might be improving on it’s weaknesses this time around, perhaps by including a fingerprint sensor, full metal body and improved camera. We can expect more from Lenovo/Motorola soon, the LG G4 is impending soon.
