Moto G now available in the US, $179 price in tow

We’ve been enjoying the Moto G for quite a while here in the UK, and why wouldn’t we be enjoying it – there’s been some remarkably good deals on a rather impressive smartphone, including a £99 deal at Tesco. Unfortunately though, for those across the pond in the good ole US of A, the Moto G wasn’t quite ready to ship, with Motorola claiming that it won’t be coming until January – meaning all that could be done was to look on in envy as Europe and Brazil enjoyed Motorola’s latest smartphone.

Thankfully it seems you won’t have to wait until January after all, with the phone already up for purchase from Motorola, with the 8GB version starting at $179 and 16GB version for $199.

Whilst the phone won’t be able to take advantage of the huge 4G networks of AT&T and Verizon, it will come optimised for HSPA+ data on most networks, including AT&T and T-Mobile. Verizon customers however will have to wait a little longer, as of right now only the GSM model of the smartphone is available.

If you take the plunge and buy a Moto G right now, then expect it to be in your hands by next week, with shipping set to begin on December 2nd.
